Having served as the Senior Vice President of Sports and Entertainment for Omnicom’s GMR Marketing, Damage: The Esports Agency Partner, Ed Kiernan, is a veteran in the world of sports marketing and advertising.


At GMR, Kiernan worked across all of GMR’s platforms, including corporate consulting, sports, lifestyle, mobile, digital, and music. In addition to these verticals, he also managed and oversaw GMR’s New York City office as Managing Director.


Before joining GMR Marketing, Kiernan was the Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Peter Jacobsen Sports. As Jacobsen’s business partner, Kiernan oversaw the agency’s sports marketing and corporate consulting practice with a particular emphasis on overall brand strategy/management for blue-chip companies, athlete representation, global event management/promotion, and the negotiation of complex multi-level/multi-media contracts for sports and entertainment properties.


Most recently, Kiernan co-founded Engine Shop, where he signed Mercedes-Benz as their anchor client and led their acquisition by Bruin Sports Capital.


Throughout Kiernan’s career, he has directed sports marketing initiatives with the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NASCAR, NCAA, PGA Tour, USGA, PGA, Bank of America, LPGA, MLS, IOC, and the USOC. He has consulted for blue-chip companies such as Mercedez-Benz, Rolex, Lexus, P&G, Red Bull, Subway, Johnson & Johnson, NEC, HTC, Bank of America, Humana, Ketel One Vodka/Diageo, HBO, Nike, Hardrock, Omega, Capital One, and Spain-based DORNA-Sports/MotoGP, among many others.
